The Lighting Thief By Rick Rodirian

This is a very famous book. The book is so good that it was made into a movie. The Lighting Thief is a book about a kid named Percy Jackson who lives with his mother and his step-dad. His step-dad abuses him wenever he gets money. He forces him to buy him cigarettes and the rest he gambles with. And if he doesn't have any money he beats him up. As the book says he can smell money but his mom is very nice, but very powerless to her husband.  One day Percy's mom thinks its time, so she takes him to a camp called Half Blood.  He doesn't know anything so they go and there is a monster, and he attacks them so hard that his mother dies but he gets to the camp. Sad and alone this is a adventure and sad book if i was in Percy's shoes i would run away and never come back. I'll get a job find shelter and make a living. I feel very bad for Percy i mean he has no idea who his father is and he is living with a greedy uncle. Percy is a good kid and has no idea about what is going to happen to him. This is a great book and i would recommend it to a 4th grader or above because it has some content that is not appropriate for a young audience.
